About This Spot

Stepping into Boardwalk BBQ feels like finding a beloved meal waiting for you after a day of sun and sand—comforting, familiar, yet with little surprises in every bite. Nestled near the lively hum of Buena Park’s Beach Boulevard, this spot brings a casual, approachable vibe where the pace is just right for satisfying hunger without rushing the moment. It’s the kind of place where families, friends, and visitors to the area naturally gravitate, drawn by the aromas of smoky barbecue mingling with the tang of sweet and spicy sauces.

The atmosphere here carries an energetic yet relaxed rhythm typical of a well-loved fast casual haunt—there’s a steady flow of eager guests, occasional friendly banter, and the warm clatter of plates and conversations. The dining experience feels communal, whether you’re sharing a platter piled with tender tri tip and ribs or savoring a lively twist like the boysenberry-infused barbecue wings. These unexpected touches, like a hint of local berry flavors weaving through the sauces, make the meal feel rooted in its place, an extension of the community sharing stories over food.

Boardwalk BBQ invites you to explore comfort food with a bit of character, where dishes come to life with bold seasoning and varied textures—from juicy, slow-cooked meats to creamy mac and cheese siblings nested beside crispy, flavorful cornbread muffins. Casual favorites mingle with creative offerings, like berry-sprinkled salads that cut through the richness with freshness, and unique sandwiches that surprise with subtle sweetness and spice. Pairing your meal with a glass of craft beer or a bright chilled wine rounds out the laid-back yet thoughtfully curated feel of the menu.

While the lines can swell during peak times, they seem a natural sign of the place’s popularity rather than a disruption—the steady buzz only adds to the anticipation of a well-earned meal. For locals and travelers alike, Boardwalk BBQ is a welcoming pit stop that’s less about rush and more about relishing the small moments: the warmth from the grill, the thrill of a new favorite flavor, and the ease of gathering around dishes that invite sharing and conversation.

The Tri-tip was well seasoned. The meatballs were a little dense but were full of flavor. The mashed potatoes had a good texture. The seasoned veggies were well cooked too. The spicy bbq had a really good kick! The boysenberry bbq sauce was not as sweet as I was expecting and was yummy! The mac and cheese was delicious. The cornbread was dry but had pretty good flavor. For being a cater style restaurant most of the food was pretty good!

Definitely a stop on the map. They have this new thing the macaroni and cheese loaf. It has bacon pineapple corn other things it's really good. I have the all-season dining pass so I've been here a couple times and it's worth it.

Very delicious Mac n cheese and tri tip. Very good deal if you get the meal pass for the day. The meat was pretty juicy and tender

The lines are terribly long beyond reason to get your food. However, once we got the food the experience was great. The gourmet berry salad was amazingly fresh and topped generously with assorted sweet, ripe berries! So light and healthy. The beef brisket was juicy, the corn was average, but the corn muffin was scrumptious. Very good for theme park counter service food.

Lines were short and quick at the hour I went. Meatballs had boysenberry bbq sauce…mild and good. Mac&cheese wasn’t very creamy. Cornbread was soft and fluffy. Numerous drink options including a Freestyle machine. Wish I had found this place earlier on my trip.
